Barry Brogan is at the helm of SAIL Adirondacks. Barry is a New York State certified small boat Pilot and Engineer, and licensed U.S. Coast Guard charter  boat captain. SAIL Adirondacks is a family run business. Barry is a life-long sailor with experience on Sunfish, Lightnings, J24s as well as small and mid-size cruising boats. Rosanne is the Brogan crew’s First Mate, Joe and Hannah round out our compliment and are also competent sailors.

the 2023 season at our Saranac Lake and Lake Champlain bases of operation. Our motto is Old Boats and New Adventures, and we look forward to hosting you on our two classic cruisers, GiBro 95 our 1979 O’Day day-sailor, and GiBro Too the classic 1986 Catalina 30. At SAIL Adirondacks you can choose a learn to sail experience or a kick back and “enjoy the ride” day on the water. Either way sailing is by its nature a hands on endeavor and everyone on board helps out with ensuring we all have a fun and safe sailing experience.”

Our boats are well maintained, comfortable to sail, and fully equipped with all New York State and United States Coast Guard mandated safety equipment. Each cruise will begin with a chart review and safety briefing. Sailing is the art of harnessing mother nature, wisely applying the rules of physics to the boat we are on, and working well together as a crew. Sometimes, mother nature can be fickle so it is important to understand that all times for cruises are estimates. The wind can pick up and the wind can
die. Our cruises are designed for sailing…but sometimes we motor. We have a generous refund and rescheduling policy for when mother nature tells us it is just not going to be a good day on the lake. Whether you are an old salt or brand new to sailing, SAIL Adirondacks will work with you to ensure you leave the lake with fond memories and a feel for the joy of moving across the water under sail.
