Beginner Sailing Camp on Lower Saranac

Service Description

Sail Adirondacks will offer one or two Junior Sailing Camps during the 2020 summer season. These day-camp sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will include both on-land and on-water instruction for 8 to 15 year olds. Sailors will learn safe boat handling, boating terminology, how sails work, helmsmanship, tacking, rigging, and basic rules of the (boating) road. Along with our instruction there will be plenty of time built in for sailing, swimming, and having a great time on, in, and around the water. Sailing camp will operate out of our Saranac Lake Marina Base, but may include sailing on Upper Saranac and/or a field trip to Lake Champlain. Although we always wear personal flotation devices, sailors must be competent swimmers to participate in this camp. Six sailors are needed to run a camp session and 2020 dates are yet to be determined.
